The Chests of Stories and Legends

On Mount Karya, northwest of the town of Skopelos and above the beautiful Monastery of St. Eustathius with its exceptional view, in the location of Sentoukia, four remarkable ancient tombs from the Roman or early Christian period can be found, characterized by being hewn! Generally, Sentoukia has many stories and legends about hidden treasures to showcase!

Two of the tombs are parallel to each other and are separated by a third one that is unfinished and another one that is parallel to the three and located two meters further away. The three completed tombs have 2.5-meter covers made of monolithic slabs and were found inverted (a sign of desecration).

The area of Sentoukia, as is well known, is located at one of the highest topographical points of the island. From there, you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view, spotting Alonissos, Evia, Skiathos, and Pilio, and if the atmosphere is clear, you will also see Halkidiki and, of course, Olympus on the horizon.
