Stafylos Beach is located in a beautiful lush pine-covered bay on the sheltered southern side of the island.
It took its name from the first mythical King of the Minoan-Cretan peak.
It is one of the most well-known sandy beaches of the island, with crystal clear blue waters that attract a large number of bathers. Very close to the town of Skopelos, as it is the first beach we encounter at a distance of only 4.5 km.
The wind rarely catches it, which makes it ideal for those traveling with their family and children, as well as for anyone looking for a well-organized beach to spend the whole day.
Stafilos is known for its gently sloping seabed, making it a safe choice for children. However, the use of protective footwear is recommended due to the presence of sea urchins and sharp rocks on the ocean floor. These hazards are easily spotted through the crystal-clear waters, minimizing the risk of injury. From the shore, one can enjoy stunning views of the wooded bay, nearby islands, and passing tourist boats.
In Stafylos, there are beach bars with sunbeds and umbrellas, and there is also a lifeguard. If you plan to visit the beach by bus, you will need to walk about half a kilometer from the stop located on the main road.
